Beach Huts are hung

They are done and look great. Sadly the light is not brilliant for a photo tonight and flash washes them out so will post  a better one tomorrow. Many thanks for advice from Anthea whose banner experience was invaluable in checking out the sleeve was correctly aligned so it hangs straight. Hopefully tommorow Dale will guide me in a neat way to cut down the bamboo pole so they are really tidy.

In the meantime, I've made a zip bag from the piece using up the snail trail mistakes on which I'd practiced the BH quilting. Spot the mistakes? Something to carry sewing bits about in and who needs another cushion? It took me all day being a bit of a leaning curve but very pleased with the result. The worst bit was when I cut off the long bit of the zip with the pull still attached. Ouch! The good bit was that it's a recycled zip that's been in a sewing drawer since the beginning of time.

Next task is to finish the folded patchwork cushion by sewing the corner posts and attaching the border. Then think about the backing which might be the stripes edging the above bag.  This is from an old shirt bought when the Tenovus shop was selling everthing for £1. Recycling is so satisfying.

Think I might sleep well tonight

My god daughter Harriet is very talented at knitting little dogs, watch this space for pictures
